- Consider how much frozen pet food is required for the number of days you will be traveling with your pet.
- Store all pet food in an ice-filled thermal cooler or one equipped with a plug for your vehicles power outlet. - Thoroughly wash your hands and all surfaces before and after handling the raw pet food. - Use stainless steel dishes, as they are easier to clean and do not hold any contaminants within the material. - If any food is left over after your pet has finished eating, dispose of it. Wash your pet’s dish, do not allow the dish to sit overnight. - After thawing, the pet food should be used within 2-3 days and kept in a hotel/motel refrigerator or ice-filled cooler. - NEVER LEAVE YOUR PET LOCKED IN A VEHICLE WITHOUT ADEQUATE VENTILATION, SHADE AND SOURCE OF WATER.
